Sparkling Wine & Champagne Masterclass
Icon wines are expensive, in short supply and able to compete internationally with the best. Over the past decade Australia has produced super sparklers with Expensive tags to Qualify for Icon status. But can they compete internationally? It’s these Sparklers that this tasting will showcase. Over the past 12 months several newcomers from France and Southern Australia have emerged showing great value.
Which will be retained from last year’s selection of Aussie Fizzes and will some make way for new challengers? The philosophy of the annual Masterclass tastings is to highlight wines that represent the state of the art in relation to evolving winemaking skills and changes in vintage conditions. New wines will need to demonstrate high quality blending, pronounced lees ageing and the right amount of acid to join the super bubbles.
With Andrew’s expertise and wealth of knowledge as a guide, discover how the current Aussies compare with foreign icons. Will they have the balance, complexity and creaminess to justify their status? There’s every reason to attend. Return your acceptance form promptly. Buffet Dinner to match the wines will be provided.
